Intellectual property in commissioned work
Ownership of any invention arising from a commissioned project is agreed in advance at the contract stage. Rights in the test material and its use normally rest with the sponsor; the institute may reserve rights in the research method and analytical procedure. Specific terms are settled in each contract.
