Terms of Use

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms govern the conditions and procedures for use of ginsengstudy.com ('the site'), operated by the Korea Ginseng & Herb Clinical Research Institute ('the institute'), and the rights and obligations of the institute and users.

Article 2 (Effect and amendment)

1. These terms take effect on publication on the site.
2. The institute may amend these terms where necessary, within the limits of applicable law, giving at least seven days' notice on the site before the amendment takes effect.
3. A user who does not accept the amended terms may discontinue use of the site.

Article 3 (Services)

Through the site the institute provides:

• information about the institute and its research areas
• bibliographic information on research outputs (papers, reports)
• information about published books
• receipt of research commissions and enquiries

Article 4 (Nature of a submitted request)

1. Submission of a request through the site constitutes an application for consultation and does not of itself form a research services agreement.
2. A research services agreement is formed by the signature of a separate written contract following consultation.
3. The institute may decline a request where its content would breach research ethics or applicable law, or where the work is not realistically feasible.

Article 5 (Nature of published information and disclaimer)

1. Research information published on the site is provided for information purposes.
2. The institute is not a medical institution, and nothing on the site constitutes medical advice for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of disease. Health decisions should be discussed with a qualified medical professional.
3. Nothing on the site claims that any product prevents or treats disease.
4. The institute accepts no liability for decisions taken by users on the basis of information on the site, or for their consequences.
5. The institute accepts no liability for the content of external sites linked from the site.

Article 6 (Copyright)

1. Copyright in the text, diagrams and images published on the site belongs to the institute.
2. Users may quote from the site for non-commercial purposes provided the source is stated.
3. Content may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted or used commercially without the institute's prior written consent.
4. Copyright in published papers and abstracts rests with the respective journal publishers; use of the full text is governed by each journal's policy.

Article 7 (User obligations)

Users must not:

• submit a request or enquiry using another person's information or false information
• interfere with the operation of the site or place an excessive load on the server
• harvest content from the site in bulk by automated means
• infringe the rights of the institute or of any third party

Article 8 (Personal data)

The institute protects users' personal data in accordance with applicable law. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Article 9 (Disputes)

1. These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
2. The institute and the user will seek in good faith to resolve any dispute arising from use of the site.
3. Where no resolution is reached, proceedings may be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.

Supplementary provision

These terms take effect on 10 September 2026.
